Ex: in the show he's always more authoritative around the coven and Claudia but when he's alone with Louis he starts to be himself and show vulnerability. While this is also a manipulative form of his I believe it's also just how he's hard-wired and does it without much thinking because he found comfort in Louis

Won't really understand how things work without explicit instructions
Ex: in the Queen of the Damned, he asks Daniel to call Paris because he wants to see if it'll work. Daniel tells him he's an idiot if he can't figure it out himself and read instructions but eventually he gives in and does it. I believe this is because 1. Armand just likes
watching Daniel do stuff and 2. It's easier to watch
and listen to learn than read confusing

He doesn't understand some social cues
Ex: in the modern timeline (s2 ep 6) Louis corrected him when saying he told him to �indulge the buffoon� not �lead with a velvet glove�. This COULD be because he
just didn't understand what Louis was telling to do at the time
Ex 2: (s2 ep6, again) Louis tells Armand to take off his clothes and get in the coffin. At first, Armand pauses then goes on to talk about the new script. Most likely because he didn't believe he was serious or something like that

Doesn't understand some social cues pt 2
Despite the situation, in the books and show, he will outright just say 'I love you' or beg for companionship. He can't tell or doesn't care to notice what the other person is going through and feeling and just drops that bombshell
Ex: in The Vampire Lestat book, after he and Lestat get into a big fight he begs for Lestat (and Lestat's mom Gabrielle) to be with him despite much they don't lik

While being known as angelic and ethereal, he's also just weird like a bug. This is in the same area as being off putting. The way he moves and processes things sometimes makes him seem insect-like

He likes rules and routine and gets upset every time someone messes with it
Ex: when Louis and Claudia came to Paris and it was shifting the coven dynamic, Lestat first meeting the coven and getting everyone to leave because they didn't need their rules, Santiago refusing to cooperate

Ex: Queen of the Damned (book three)-gets obsessed with blenders, microwaves, planes, movies, etc for weeks to months at a time and it's all he consumes and
forces Daniel to deal with it

Relating to another autistic character:
This is the biggest evidence from the books. There is another autistic character, Sybelle, who is written to parallel Armand. Armand adores her, and in a moment where she has a meltdown, Armand relates to her and even communicates to the reader that he often does the same. �She put her hands over her ears and bowed her head. How many times had I done that very thing myself when it seemed a stream of words and images would utterly destroy me.�

Special Interests:
While we haven't quite seen it in the show yet, Book Armand has many special interests. He develops an obsession with blenders, and makes Daniel watch his favorite movies like Blade Runner and Time Bandits again and again. I love this detail as it shows Armand being comfortable to unmask around Daniel :)

Scripting Encounters:
Armand often needs a script in his head for social encounters, this was made all the more evident in the latest episode, where he scripts out apologies to those he perceives he has hurt in the past, and he looks lost when Daniel and Lestat don't react how he expects.

Strong need for structure:
Armand is intensely dedicated to the structure provided by the Children of Darkness, and the great laws. This could be due to indoctrination but I think the fact that he still clings to them long after the others have abandoned them proves that there's some level of autism there

Self-soothing behavior:
I was debating including this, as apparently Armand's self-soothing are a habit from actor Assad Zaman, but I decided to include it as it elevates the character, and was included for a reason. Armand stims. He just does.

Eye contact:
Armand does not avoid eye contact, he does the opposite, making uncomfortably intense eye contact with just about everybody he meets.

Masking:
Armand is a huge masker, to the point where it's unclear if we've really seen the real Armand yet. What we do know is that Armand is hyper-vigilant about how others perceive him and changes his behavior in order to become who he thinks the other person wants.
